The sanctuary at St. Andrew’s will seat approximately 350 quite comfortably on either the floor level or in the balcony.

Built in 1901 to replace the original 24-year-old church building, this beautiful, octagonal sanctuary is one that German cruise boats include on their itineraries when they visit Parry Sound. The acoustics are wonderful and the sound of music rolls off the sanctuary dome and the eight Norman arches and along the hand-carved pews.

Assistive hearing devices are available for the hearing challenged by requesting them from the ushers. The church organ and the sanctuary piano add much to worship services, weddings or funerals. The sanctuary can be accessed through the main front doors off Seguin Street or via the side door at the top of the driveway where wheelchair access is provided.

The sanctuary, minister's office and church hall can be accessed through the main front doors off Seguin Street or via the side door at the top of the driveway where wheelchair access is provided. We regret that basement rooms and offices are not wheel chair accessible and we do not have special washroom facilities.

In 1961, St. Andrew's added the fellowship hall and gymnasium for congregational social and sports activities.

This addition consists of two floors.

  • On the main floor off the sanctuary are the minister's study, kitchen facilities, washrooms and a large gymnasium that can be used for church dinners as well.
  • On the lower floor which is accessed by steps just inside the side door are the nursery, washrooms and several classrooms, along with some storage space. Also located on this level are the church archives where pictures and written history are stored.
  • The fellowship hall is used for many weddings and funeral receptions as well as congregational luncheons and dinners.
  • Additional information about accessing these facilities can be obtained from the church office. Contact the secretary, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The large kitchen adjacent to the fellowship hall gymnasium has large gas stoves, a refrigerator, sinks and dishes for large gatherings, as well as a dish washer. Sectional tables are kept in a storage room off the hall where up to 200 people can be seated for a meal. Chairs can be set up for meetings as well.

In the lower level of the church below the sanctuary and just off the fellowship hall, is another smaller kitchen which has a fridge, stove and sink along with some dishes. This is handy for more intimate and smaller lunches in the adjacent, carpeted area where round tables can be set up.

Initial inquiries about using these facilities can be made through the secretary, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

St. Andrew's maintains a church library in the basement below the sanctuary. Resources include many books and videos along with teaching materials and group study guides. Borrowing is done on a simple, self-sign-out system.
