St. Andrew’s participates in the PAR program (Pre Authorized Remittance). If you are interested in having your your weekly tithes and offerings set up through PAR, please contact Karin Cowan or Bonnie Ramsay or call the Church Office (746-9612). By signing up for this program, your offering would be deducted from your bank account once each month on the 20th.
It’s a great way to help reduce the number of envelopes we use and you need not worry if you are away your offering is still received.
Authorization sheets continue to be available, it is not too late to sign-up to have your weekly donations deducted from your bank account once a month on the 20th. Just think, no more cheque writing or making sure you have the correct amount of cash. We have implemented this programme to save time with the counting of the offering on a weekly basis and also save money by reducing our bank fees and the cost of offering envelopes.
Sign-up forms are available at the back of the sanctuary or you may Download the Application Form . If you have any questions regarding this plan, please speak with Bonnie or Karin or call the Church Office (746-9612). Thanks! Bonnie Ramsay and Karin Cowan
- What is the PAR Plan? It is a direct debit program that allows people to support their church through an automatic monthly withdrawal from their bank account.
- How does the plan work? To start on the plan an individual must complete an authorization form indicating the amount of the monthly payment and provide a signed, voided cheque (or appropriate documentation obtained from your financial institution).
- Can I change or stop my deduction? Yes, changes can be made by notifying the administrator (Church Treasurer or Envelope Secretary) of the program early in the month in which the change is to be effective.
- Can I make special offerings? Yes, you may still use an envelope indicating your name and or envelope number and indicate the amount.
- What happens if I change my bank account? A ‘void’ cheque or appropriate documentation on the new account must be provided to the designated contact person.
- Can anyone participate? Yes, you need a bank account and must ensure that there are sufficient funds in the account to cover the monthly deduction.
- Deductions are made once a month, on the 20th day of each month.
Advantages of Pre-Authorized Remittance
- Your contribution will be made regularly even if you are away on vacation.
- You will not have to write a cheque or carry cash each week when you come to church.
- The church will receive your contributions consistently, which will help pay all the bills even in the summer months when many are away.
- It will save time and work for those who count and register the offerings each Sunday.
- Best of all, never again will you have the frustration of getting halfway to church and then remembering that you forgot your offering!
- It will save the church on bank charges. We currently pay for each cheque we deposit as well as cash and coin. Although we have a good plan with our financial institution, because of the amount of cash and coin received, we are always over the amount our plan allows so that adds extra services charges monthly.
- It will save the church money in the number of envelopes we are required to order. Last year the cost of envelopes to St. Andrew’s was over $400.00. We trust that many will consider this option for your tithes and offerings to St. Andrew’s. We are prepared to set this up immediately. Brochures are available at the entrances to the sanctuary for you to take and fill in the required information.
