Have you heard of a Prayer Shawl Small Group?

Some background on the Prayer Shawl - "Whether they are called Prayer Shawls, Comfort Shawls, Peace Shawls, or Mantles, etc., the shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way. Some recipients have continued the kindness by making a shawl and passing it onto someone in need. Thus, the blessing ripples from person-to-person, with both the giver and receiver feeling the unconditional embrace of a sheltering, loving God!"

Looking ahead to the fall, there are plans to hold a Tuesday afternoon meeting with a devotional, prayer time and to knit or crochet together as a group. If you would like to become involved is this ministry, please contact the Prayer Coordinator, Carolyn Major @ 746-2469 or at work, 751-776, ext. 601

St Andrew's maintains several mailing lists for your convenience. They are moderated lists and your message will be reviewed by a moderator before it is distributed. There are two buttons after each description one to send a message and one to join the list.

As you are aware, in 2008 Rob Kennedy was confirmed as a candidate for ordination within the Presbyterian Church by General Assembly (June 2008). As such, he must complete a number of part-time courses at Knox College in Toronto. During this process he will be incurring substantial tuition, travel and accommodation costs to complete the necessary requirements. He has completed 9 of 15 credits and is currently taking the “Chaplaincy Pastoral Care” course (2 credits)

The devotional booklets for the months of September through November are available at the back of the sanctuary. We encourage you to take a booklet and begin reading God's word daily.

Should you require the larger print version, mail-in forms are in the box with the regular booklets.

navigators

The Navigators of Canada is an evangelical non-profit organization with a long history of working with individuals and churches to fulfil Christ's great commission to "go and make disciples" (Matthew 28:19) by multiplying labourers for Christ across Canada and overseas.

PAR

St. Andrew’s participates in the PAR program (Pre Authorized
Remittance). If you are interested in having your your weekly
tithes and offerings set up through PAR, please contact Karin
Cowan or Bonnie Ramsay or call the Church Office (746-9612). By signing
up for this program, your offering would be deducted from your bank
account once each month on the 20th. It’s a great way to help reduce
the number of envelopes we use and you need not worry if you are away
your offering is still received.
